Maladie parasitaire humaine due à une infestation par Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis. La femelle de cet acarien microscopique creuse un sillon sous la peau et y pond ses œufs, ce qui déclenche ensuite une réaction du système immunitaire de l’hôte qui conduit à de vives démangeaisons et à une éruption cutanée.
