Maladie virale affectant les poissons. Due au virus de la nécrose nerveuse (VNN), la maladie constitue une menace majeure pour l'industrie de la pisciculture marine et d'eau douce dans le monde entier. Les poissons infectés présentent un comportement de nage anormal, qui est le principal signe clinique, mais ils présentent également de graves troubles neurologiques. La maladie est responsable d'une augmentation de la mortalité et d'une réduction de l'indice de consommation et du bien-être des animaux, ce qui affecte à la fois la production et la viabilité économique des exploitations.

Viral disease affecting fish. Due to the nervous necrosis virus (NNV), the disease is a major threat to the marine and freshwater fish farming industry, worldwide. Infected fish display abnormal swimming behavior, which is the main clinical sign, but they also show severe neurological disorders. The disease is responsible for increased mortality and reduced feed conversion ratio and animal welfare, thus affecting both production and economic viability of farms.
