Utilisation d'organismes vivants ou substances naturelles pour prévenir ou réduire les dommages causés par des organismes nuisibles (ravageurs, plantes adventices et pathogènes). Quatre catégories d’approche de biocontrôle sont différenciées, macro-organismes (insectes, nématodes), micro-organismes (virus, bactéries ou champignons), médiateurs chimiques (phéromones) et substances naturelles d’origine minérale, végétale ou animale.
