Étude du devenir d'une substance dans l'organisme. La quantité de substance qui agit avec l'organisme pour causer un effet néfaste dépend de quatre facteurs biologiques principaux qui sont : l'absorption, la distribution, le métabolisme (ou la biotransformation) et l'excrétion.
